Professor Datin Dr. Lydia binti Abdul Latif is a Consultant Rehabilitation Physician and Chief Medical Officer in ReGen Rehab Hospital (Malaysia’s first private rehabilitation hospital). She is specialised in neurorehabilitation, especially in stroke, traumatic brain injury, spinal cord injury, cerebral palsy, Parkinson’s disease, and motor neurone disease. Prior to this, she was an outstanding professor in Faculty of Medicine, University of Malaya, who had trained numerous rehabilitation physicians for the country. Professor Datin Dr. Lydia is the National Motor Neurone Disease Medical Advisor since 2015. She has multiple publications in established academic journals and has written on the “Motor Neurone Diseases” chapter in Braddom’s Rehabilitation Care: A Clinical Handbook. She is also the co-author for “Disability Profile and the Factors Affecting Functional Outcome in Malaysian Motor Neurone Disease Population” paper which was published recently in Neurology Asia Journal. Besides that, she is an esteemed speaker who has spoken for various conferences and workshops, both nationally and internationally.
