- Session Description: Intracerebral hemorrhage (ICH) is a medical emergency and one of the deadliest type of stroke. Acute management has changed recently with key interventions that can improve outcomes. Hematoma expansion is a key time sensitive therapeutic target and Imaging can also provide important clues for ICH etiological classification. The main goals of this teaching session are to provide an update on CT and MRI imaging markers for the etiological workup of acute ICH, discuss Cerebral Amyloid Angiopathy (CAA) diagnosis and management and acute management of ICH.
